【Mingli Lecture 2023, Issue 46】Researcher Wu Dengsheng from the Institute of Science and Technology Strategy Consulting, Chinese Academ

On the afternoon of June 9, 2023, at the invitation of the Knowledge Management and Data Analysis Laboratory, Wu Dengsheng, a researcher of the Institute of Strategic Consulting and Research in Science and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a theme report entitled "Data driven science and technology management and decision-making". The report was chaired by Professor Wang Xuefeng, and numerous faculty and students from the college participated in the academic presentation.

In the report, researcher Wu Dengsheng shared three core research work around the evaluation model method and practice of Management science journals from the perspective of China, identifying existing scientific and technological evaluation index problems and building new models and methods, and research on scientific and technological resource allocation efficiency and output law. Researcher Wu Dengsheng's report made students realize that in the era of Big data, it is of great significance for science and technology management and decision-making to take data as the driving force and support, deeply understand China's science and technology development trend and explore its laws. After the lecture, the students had a heated discussion with Researcher Wu Dengsheng on how to understand data-driven technology management and decision-making, the practice of journal evaluation, and the shortcomings of existing technology evaluation indicators. They gained a lot and were still not fully satisfied.

Researcher Wu Dengsheng, doctor of management, winner of National Youth Excellence Program, engaged in research on management, decision-making and risk management of scientific and technological Big data. He was elected to the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and served as the deputy editor in chief of China Management science and the academic editor of Innovation. Led over 20 scientific research projects and published over 100 papers in mainstream journals, including 2 short articles in the form of Letter in Nature and Science. He has won two second prizes for scientific and technological progress in Qinghai Province, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Excellent Doctoral Thesis Award, the Special Award of the President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the honorary title of "Rising Star" compound talent of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Beijing Branch. Participated in drafting one national standard, obtained 2 national invention patents, and 13 software copyrights. As the main implementer, I submitted more than 10 policy suggestions that were adopted by the national decision-making department, many of which received approval from national leaders.
